Working principle: "Metal inspection" based on electromagnetic induction

The core technology of metal security gates is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Its basic structure consists of two sets of coils - the transmitting coil and the receiving coil, which are installed on both sides of the door. After the device is started, the transmitting coil will continuously emit a high-frequency alternating electromagnetic field outward. This electromagnetic field is like an invisible net, covering the entire door frame area.

When the human body carries metal objects (such as keys, mobile phones, knives, and even paper clips) through this electromagnetic field, eddy current effects will be generated inside the metal object, thereby disturbing the original magnetic field distribution. This disturbance will be quickly captured by the receiving coil and converted into an electrical signal. The control system then analyzes the signal to determine the size, shape, and location of the metal object. If the preset safety threshold is exceeded, the system will trigger an alarm and accurately indicate the body area where the metal object is located (such as left shoulder, right waist, etc.) through LED light strips or display screens, achieving "zone positioning".

It is worth noting that modern high-end security gates can distinguish between different types of metals, and some equipment can even filter out daily small metal items (such as coins and belt buckles), thereby significantly reducing false alarm rates and improving traffic efficiency. 

Application scenarios: From transportation hubs to campus hospitals 

The application of metal security gates has already surpassed traditional high security places such as airports and customs, gradually penetrating into multiple levels of social life: 

Transportation hubs: Security gates are commonly deployed in densely populated areas such as airports, high-speed railway stations, and subway stations to screen for dangerous goods such as firearms and knives. They are an important component of the anti-terrorism and riot control system. 

Judicial and government agencies: Courts, prisons, public security departments, and other places are required to use security gates to prevent prohibited items from being brought into sensitive areas and ensure the safety of staff and visitors.

Education and healthcare systems: In recent years, some urban hospitals have implemented a "security check before medical treatment" system to prevent violent incidents in doctor-patient conflicts; Some middle schools and universities also install security gates at their school entrances to prevent campus bullying and accidental injuries. 

Large scale events and exhibitions such as concerts, sports events, and expos often use foldable or portable security gates for temporary high-altitude events, which are easy to deploy and dismantle quickly. 

According to their form, security gates are mainly divided into plate type (fixed installation), folding type (convenient for transportation), and portable type (suitable for outdoor environments without power supply) to meet the flexible needs of different scenarios. 

Development Trends: Intelligence, Precision, and Humanization

Although traditional metal security gates have been widely used, their "one size fits all" alarm mechanism often leads to a large number of false alarms, affecting the travel experience. Therefore, the industry is evolving in three major directions:

Intelligent recognition and AI integration: The new generation of security gates combines artificial intelligence algorithms to learn and recognize the characteristics of common harmless metal items, automatically filter out interference signals, and improve detection accuracy. 

Multimodal fusion security check: In the future, security check systems may integrate technologies such as millimeter wave imaging, X-ray, and facial recognition to build a comprehensive security check platform that combines "metal+image+identity" to achieve more comprehensive risk assessment. 

Human computer interaction optimization: Through voice prompts, visual interfaces, remote control and other functions, the operation is made more convenient, while reducing the psychological pressure on the examinee, reflecting the balance between "safety" and "respect". 

Although metal security gates are silent, they are an indispensable part of the modern social security system. It is not only a crystallization of technology, but also a concrete manifestation of the concept of public safety. With the advancement of technology and the evolution of social needs, this "invisible eye" will continue to evolve.
