LPR (License Plate Recognition), also known as ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera, is a key hardware component for modern ticket less parking ticketing systems. Unlike UHF RFID readers that require windshield tags or barcode ticket dispensers that require physical paper tickets, LPR camera identifies vehicles purely through license plate visual recognition, enabling hands free, card free, ticket free vehicle access. Sintronictech LPR cameras can work standalone or hybrid mode with TCP300 lane controller, UHF readers and parking ticketing software, and have been deployed in multiple overseas projects including Croatia parking ticketing project and Dubai integrated smart parking system.

LPR camera is a dedicated industrial vision camera built in high resolution sensor, infrared IR fill light and embedded edge AI OCR algorithm. It is mounted above or beside parking entry & exit lanes. It captures vehicle plate images, runs local image processing, extracts plate alphanumeric characters, converts visual pictures into readable text plate number, then transmits plate data to TCP300 lane controller and central parking ticketing server over TCP/IP network.

Key feature: Edge side processing. Most recognition calculation is finished inside the camera itself, instead of sending full size raw video stream to server, which greatly reduces network bandwidth consumption. Built in infrared illuminator guarantees stable recognition performance at night, underground dim garage and against vehicle headlight glare.
