Troubleshooting methods for access control systems
Source:blog   Author:sintronictech

1. Detection method: Start the management software, select the door on the main console, click on the detection controller, and the software operation information will prompt relevant faults. Then, you can handle according to the relevant information.

2. Real time monitoring method: Control panel - Real time monitoring, real-time monitoring of corresponding card swiping indicator lights to facilitate the detection of card swiping failure to open the door.

3. Search net method: Basic settings - Controller - Search net, which helps to find communication faults of TCP/IP controllers. Corresponding communication indicator lights help to find communication faults. Please turn off the firewall!

Method 2: Hardware indicator light method

When powered on, we can check the power indicator light POWER and the CPU indicator light flashing to determine if the controller is in working condition.

When swiping the card, we can check the card light to determine if there is any card reading data transmitted to the controller.

3. Press the exit button, and we can check if the relay indicator light clicks to determine if the controller relay output is normal.

4. When performing communication operations, check the TX and RX lights. If the TCP controller RX (Link) light is constantly on, it indicates that there is generally no problem with the wiring. The TX light flashing indicates that communication is in progress.

5. The flashing Err light indicates that the controller has malfunctioned, and detailed information can be obtained through software testing.

6. The video controller can also check the power indicator light and whether the RJ45 port indicator light flashes alternately during normal operation.

The presence or absence of flickering in the 7.485 active converter can determine whether the computer is sending data.

Method 3: Substitution exclusion method

1. Equipment replacement method: This can only be used as a reference and cannot be fully determined, because if it is caused by a certain environment or factor, it may not immediately manifest, just like chronic diseases in humans have a latent period, which can also cause problems after a period of time. If the suspected faulty equipment is replaced and tested separately without any problems, it may be due to environmental interference such as wiring, and the fault source should be actively searched for.

2. Computer replacement method: It can determine whether it is a problem with the customer's computer or operating system environment, virus, serial port output or settings.

3. Database and software replacement method: For example, if extracting records or uploading settings fails, generating reports fails, etc., another brand new database or software can be used to determine the scope of the problem.

Method 4: Separation and exclusion method

1. With the access control controller as the core, many controlled devices can be externally connected. The quality parameters and performance of external devices vary greatly, and compatibility may cause interference, resulting in various strange phenomena. For example, when the controller restarts, ERR light flashes, or the door opens and closes abnormally, the external devices can be separated to see if they are normal. Then load each external device one by one and test it to see what is causing the fault, such as three bar gates, barrier gates, electric bells, elevators, automatic doors, and various alarm devices connected to the expansion board. The solution is to install weak current isolators.
