What is Electric drop bolt lock?

The Electric drop bolt lock is an electronically controlled lock, which drives the extension or retraction of the "bolt" through the on and off of the current to achieve the function of locking or opening the door. Of course, the realization of the function of closing the door and opening the door needs to cooperate with the "magnet" to realize。

Use
Generally, an electric bolt lock is composed of two main parts: a lock body and a keyhole. The key component in the lock body is the "lock tongue", which can be combined with the "lock hole" to achieve two states of "closed" and "opened". That is, the lock tongue is inserted into the lock hole to close the door, and the lock tongue leaves the lock hole to open the door. Because of the retractable function of the bolt, it was given the name "electric bolt lock". It is precisely because of this feature that electric mortise locks are often used on various swing doors (two-way opening). At the same time, its "hidden" installation feature is more suitable for places with higher requirements on the confidentiality of the lock body.
There are two types of electric mortise locks, namely, unlocking when power is on and unlocking when power is off. The state of the former is the state when the bolt is inside and the door is opened, and the latter is vice versa. However, under normal circumstances, firefighting requires that the door be opened with power failure to ensure that the door can be opened automatically when a fire occurs!
The lock has 2 cores (power + and -), 5 cores (power + and-and door sensor two state points and common points) and 8 cores (power + and-and door sensor two state points and common points, as well as a lock core 3 points).
The simple way to distinguish the quality of the lock on the surface is to look at the appearance. Another simple way is to weigh the weight with your hands.
A good amount is heavier.
When installing, you need to install the lock body (including the bolt part) in the spine, and then install the lock piece (including the key hole part) on the upper part of the movable fan. When installing, you need to pay attention to adjust the corresponding position of the lock tongue and the lock hole, as well as the corresponding position between the ground spring and the ground lock. For framed glass doors, the use of locks is sufficient; but for frameless glass doors, the "lower bracket" of the small door clip must be used as the keyhole.

performance
1. Bolt strength: If the bolt is weak, the bolt will retract automatically, or the reaction force will be poor, and the bolt will not expand and contract in time, losing its "lock" meaning.
2. The temperature of the lock body in working state: no electric mortise lock does not heat up in working state, but it should not reach the level of "boiled eggs".
3. Working current: This index is related to the strength of the bolt and also to the temperature of the lock body under working conditions. A properly designed electric mortise lock should find a balance between the two.
4. Working voltage: usually there are two kinds of 12VDC/24VDC, and most of them are 12VDC. The biggest advantage of 24VDC is that it requires less operating current.
5. Lock body size: This indicator is particularly important for places with special installation sizes. Some project size requirements cannot be achieved by design.
6. Feedback signal: Some electric mortise locks provide detection functions for the lock state, such as the detection of the position of the magnetic sheet and the detection of the state of the lock core. Can achieve higher security requirements.
7. Delay design: the door can be automatically closed after a delay of several seconds after opening the door. This function is designed for some access control systems that cannot be set to close the door delay.
Principle application
Commonly used electric locks for access control include: electric bolt locks, magnetic locks, electric locks, electric locks, etc.
Electric mortise lock: also called "anode lock", in fact it is just a kind of "anode lock", it is an electric lock that opens the door when the power is cut off. According to the fire protection requirements, when a fire occurs, the building will automatically cut off the power supply, and the electric mortise lock should be opened to facilitate people to escape, so the performance of the electric mortise lock is to open the lock (open the door) when the power is turned off.
Electric bolt locks are divided into two-wire electric bolt locks, four-wire electric bolt locks, 5-wire electric bolt locks, and 8-wire electric bolt locks.
Two-wire electric mortise lock: There are two wires, red and black, red connects to power +12VDC and black connects to GND. If any wire is disconnected, the lock will automatically extend back and the door will be in the open state. The two-wire electric lock has a relatively simple design. Without a single-chip control circuit, the lock body is easier to heat and burn hands, and the impact current is relatively large. It is the lowest-level product in the electric mortise lock product and one of the most widely used products in municipal applications.
Four-wire electric bolt lock: There are two wires, red and black, red connects to power +12VDC and black connects to GND. There are also two white lines, which are the door sensor signal lines, reflecting the open and closed state of the door. It uses the door sensor to feed back the signal to the access controller according to the current open or closed state of the door. , Such as calling the police when you break in. The functions such as long time not closed depend on these signals to transmit information. If these functions are not set up in the system, the door sensor signal line can not be connected. The four-wire electric mortise lock adopts a single-chip microcomputer controller, which has good heating, with a delay control, and a door sensor signal feedback function. It is also a widely used product in electric mortise lock products.
The electric bolt lock has a delay control, that is, there is a dial switch on the lock body, and the delay time of closing the door can be set. Usually can be set to 0 seconds, 3 seconds, 6 seconds, 9 seconds. Each brand of lock has a slightly different delay in several stages.
Please note that this delay is different from the two concepts of door opening delay set by the access control controller and the access control software.
The access controller and access control software set the "door opening delay", or "door delay", which refers to how many seconds after the electric mortise lock is opened, the door will automatically close.
The delay of the electric mortise lock belt is the door closing delay, which refers to how long after the door is in place, the lock will come down to lock the door. Generally, the access control system requires that once the door is closed in place, the lock will come down to close the door. Therefore, the delay time of the electric bolt lock is set to 0 seconds by default. For some doors, the floor spring is not good. The door swayed a few times before and after the closed position before the door was set. At this time, if it is set to 0 seconds, the lock has not had time to hit the keyhole, and the door swayed past. Swinging back will knock the lock that has been stretched out. In this case, you can set a door-closing delay, so that after a few swings, the door will stabilize, and the lock will come down again to close the door.
5-wire electric mortise lock:
The principle is the same as the four-wire electric mortise lock, except that a pair of opposite signals of the door sensor is added. It is used in some special occasions, but it is troublesome in formal occasions. The engineer has to test which pair to use.
The red and black wires are the power supply. There are also three COMNONC lines, NO and NC respectively form two pairs of signals opposite to COM (a group of closed signals and a group of open signals). After the door is opened, the closed signal becomes an open signal, and a group of open signals becomes a closed signal.
8-wire electric mortise lock:
The principle is the same as the 5-wire electric mortise lock. In addition to the door sensor status output, the lock status output is also added.
