A wireless ground detector is an in ground / surface mount geomagnetic IoT sensor embedded inside each parking bay. Each unit integrates magnetometer chip, low power MCU, built in long life battery and LoRa / NB IoT wireless communication module. It does not rely on camera image capture. Instead, it senses earth magnetic field distortion caused by ferrous vehicle bodies, then sends bay occupancy status wirelessly to gateway and central parking controller. It cooperates with LED bay indicators, directional guidance signs and parking management software to deliver full parking guidance workflow.
