Operation of Long‑Bridge Tripod in Complete Turnstile Gate Solution
Source:Sintronictech   Author:International Department

A long bridge tripod turnstile (bridge‑type tripod turnstile) is a robust waist‑high pedestrian barrier designed for turnstile gate systems. Distinguished from compact vertical tripod turnstile by its extended long‑bridge SUS304 stainless‑steel cabinet, it provides flat top mounting space for various credential‑reading hardware including RFID card readers, QR‑code scanners, fingerprint and facial‑recognition modules. Multiple long‑bridge tripod units can be arranged side‑by‑side to build multi‑lane access channels for high‑density pedestrian flow. Sintronic long bridge tripod turnstiles have been deployed for overseas access‑control projects including Kuwait and Saudi Arabia pedestrian‑gate reference projects。

Core Working Principle of Long Bridge Tripod Turnstile

Sintronic long bridge tripod turnstile follows standard pedestrian‑access workflow: Credential Verification → Signal Input → Mechanism Unlock → 120‑Degree Rotation → Automatic Re‑lock. Full‑cycle operation steps are described as follows.

1. Standby locked status

Under normal standby condition, the internal solenoid‑lock assembly engages. Tripod arms stay firmly locked to block pedestrian passage. LED indicator shows red light and waits for valid authorization signal.

2. Credential verification & signal input

Pedestrians present valid credentials (RFID IC card, QR‑code, fingerprint or face recognition). Since readers are directly mounted on the flat long‑bridge top surface, signal transmission path is short and stable. The reader sends Wiegand or dry‑contact signal to the turnstile main‑control board after successful identity validation.

3. Mechanism unlock action

Upon receiving valid pass authorization:

  • Semi‑automatic model: Solenoid lock releases; pedestrians manually push tripod arms to rotate 120 degrees for passing.

  • Fully‑automatic model: Built‑in brushless motor drives tripod arms to rotate automatically without manual pushing.

4. Passage completion and auto‑reset lock

After completing one full 120‑degree rotation, built‑in position sensor detects passage completion. The tripod mechanism immediately re‑locks automatically. Only one person can pass per single valid authorization to realize anti‑tailgating protection. LED switches back to red and returns to standby for next user.

5. Emergency power‑off safety function

Once main power supply fails, the integrated drop‑arm safety mechanism triggers. Tripod arms drop horizontally, clearing the whole passageway for emergency pedestrian evacuation, meeting public‑building fire‑safety requirements.
